LENOX HILL

Tungsten Property, a full service New York City residential real estate broker, has access to many Lenox Hill apartments, as well as many other Upper East Side apartments, for rent, lease, or sale

Lenox Hill, the sub-neighborhood of the Upper East Side, sits to the south of Carnegie Hill, to the west of Yorkville, and to the north of Midtown East. More specific boundaries of Lenox Hill are often described as East 60th Street to the south, East 77th Street to the north, 5th Avenue and Central Park to the west and Lexington Avenue to the east. Lenox Hill is one of the most affluent zip codes of Manhattan, well known for the Museum Mile, the Madison Avenue shopping district, and record-breaking townhome sales. The major avenues of Fifth, Madison, Park, and Lexington, are surveyed by the watchful eyes of doorman serving the large Upper East Side co-ops, and as of late, there have been multiple well-done renovations of luxury co-op buildings and new condo constructions that have spared no expense.

Lenox Hill food, coffee, and amenity mainstays include Sant Ambroeus on Madison, Via Quadronno on East 73rd Street, and Paul Mole, one of New York City’s oldest traditional barbershops on Lexington between East 73rd Street & East 74th Street. This exclusive residential neighborhood is also well supported by luxury retail, hotels, and arts institutions. Some of the city’s most famous luxury hotels in Lenox Hill include The Carlyle, The Surrey, The Mark, and The Plaza Athenée. For both those staying in these hotels as well as the inhabitants of the Upper East Side, Madison Avenue is lined by all the major luxury fashion brands including Hermes, Prada, Loro Pianna, and Chanel. Smaller boutiques can also be found on the streets that branch off of Madison Avenue, including East 69th Street where Five Story, the luxury fashion boutique, inhabits a full townhouse between Madison and Fifth. Finally, the Upper East Side is a destination for museumgoers with many well-known cultural institutions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Frick, and the Whitney, which will be moving to the Meatpacking District downtown in 2015.
